DIY Greenhouse Kits

The Do-It-Yourself movement is very popular today. We have designed our kits to encourage folks to build their own greenhouse, or hire a contractor to build it for them! Our greenhouses and kits are designed to be shipped to you in 2 parts, with the heavier local materials purchased locally. They can be framed either from wood or galvanized steel from Clarke Dietrich. Both kits come with a printed and digital version of our 84 page assembly instructions. We include technical support in the kit price, and also have posted “how to” videos to our YouTube channel. We can also help with raised bed design, water and electrical placement, site location, etc. Custom designs are available through our Consulting for almost any situation, and we work with many architects nationwide to produce more complicated designs.

The kits are designed with proper airflow in mind, with 3 stages of cooling, solar heat and supplemental heat. The finished greenhouse will be fully automated and can be left unattended for weeks at a time. They are also designed for heavy wind and snow as well as high heat. Soon we will be offering a Caribbean Design that will withstand up to a category 3 Hurricane!

Our greenhouses are specifically designed to last a lifetime of 50-100 years.

The descriptions of each kit includes how long we estimate it will take you to build it, as well as what is included. It also includes an estimate of how many people it will feed during the peak season May-October. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Durable

Our DIY Passive Solar Greenhouse kits are designed for year-round use in the Northern Rockies. They can hold up to 8′ of snow, and withstand winds above 100mph.

Features Summary

  • Custom truss and top plate design are stronger than hurricane ties
  • Designed to withstand 100+ mph wind (industry standard is 60mph) and 100 lbs per square foot of snow
  • Architectural design helps wind push the structure into the ground instead of knocking it down
  • Gigavent automatic vent openers are rated for 60+ mph wind
  • All framing is constructed with screws instead of nails
  • Constructed with 8mm twinwall polycarbonate (industry standard is 4.5mm).
  • Fasteners with metal/rubber washer on 12″ centers.
